Hollyoak's Hospitalisation Wards

SEPARATION!

We have two separate (widely spaced) hospitalisation wards. These are located at either end of the west wing. So, cats, rabbits, and small furries are well separated and isolated from barking dogs.

PURPOSE DESIGNED CAGES

Our cages are purpose designed and built to our specifications. We use special hard wearing polypropylene plastic which is quieter, warmer and more natural than stainless steel cages. They are easy to clean and disinfect, too!

We also use clear front panels rather than wire cage doors to make our patients feel less closed-in and anxious.

Each cage has it's own vet-bed with food and water bowls, as well as litter trays for cats. Electric blankets are used when needed and each ward has the animal's private hospitalisation chart to record clinical information and instructions.

Infusion pumps or gravity fed IV drips are used as necessary.

VIDEO MONITORING!

A video monitoring system is available for remote viewing of patients – either from other parts of the surgery, or from the vet's home. These are also useful for out of hours consultations between night-duty vets and nurses, and off-duty vets.

ROOMS WITH A VIEW!

Our cat ward has a screened window that overlooks green fields and bushes, so they can feel at home and dream of the days to come when they are well again.

All of our wards are completely secure, so there are never any worries about pets going 'awol'.
