I grew up in Worthing, West Sussex and was influenced by my parents’ love of the surrounding South Downs and animals in general. I went to the local school and sixth form college and then to the study Veterinary Science at Girton College, Cambridge.
I graduated in 2001 and went to work in Suffolk for a mixed family practice as a small animal vet. This busy, varied “on-call” job was good practice for my next position at the “out of hours” provider, Vets Now in Colchester. These were night shifts and weekend day shifts and could be quite intense with sometimes quite serious cases. These night shifts enabled me to be at home for our three preschool daughters at this time.
We moved to Cambridge in November 2010 and after a period of locuming took the position at Hollyoak Surgery. I enjoy general practice and have developed an interest in medicine/ dermatology as of late.
As well as our three girls, my husband and I have an active working Cocker Spaniel called Violet and an assertive tabby cat called Rosa. When not busy with family life, I enjoy walking/running with Violet and have just started horse riding again.
