days), PetSpotters mobilises scores of volunteers in your
area by e-mail to be on the lookout as they go about their
daily lives.
With so many caring animal lovers watching, the
chance of a safe reunion with your pet increases
dramatically!!
Simple
Idea!
When someone reports a missing animal
to Hollyoak, we will issue an e-mail alert to everyone who has
signed up to be a 'PetSpotter'. The alert message
will usually have a photo together with a full description of
the pet and contact details of the owner.
What Do I Have to
Do?
You
don't have to do anything special. Just keep an eye out
for the missing animal as you go about your daily life.
If you see it, call the telephone number given in the
e-mail. That's all it takes!
When Will I Get an E-mail
Alert?
Whenever Hollyoak vets receives a
report of a missing animal, we will send a description and
photo, if available, to you via e-mail.
What If My
Pet is Missing?
If your pet goes
missing, then contact Hollyoak Vets on 01223 232111. We
will alert the PetSpotters volunteer network in your
area. Within a few hours, hundreds of people will be
helping you!
What If I
Don't Have a Photo of My
Pets?
Come to Hollyoak Veterinary Surgery and ask one of the
staff to take a digital photo of your pets. (It's free!)
We will attach it to your pet's computer record so it is
available instantly for e-mail to the PetSpotters
network.
What Happens If I Find a Stray
Animal?
If you find a
stray animal, call Hollyoak and we will alert everyone –
someone must know who it belongs to!
How Many E-mails will I get
each month?
That depends on how many lost
pets are in your area. Judging from past
experience it will probably average 2-3 per month.
We will also send you a copy of the Hollyoak newsletter with
news, offers and updates from time to time.
How Much Does It Cost?
NOTHING! There are no charges at all.
Hollyoak Vets has created this program to help pet
owners in the villages we serve.
Every month we
get calls from desperate pet owners looking for their missing
animals. We see 'missing posters' hung on lamp posts and
supermarket notice boards. We get 'pet
missing' letters in the post from a number of
organisations. But, by the time we get notified, that 3
day critical time period has long past. And, with every
passing hour, the chances of a happy reunion diminish.
We realised that the only way to help was to
create a volunteer force of PetSpotters in every
village. So, we have mobilised Hollyoak
clients and other community volunteers into a fast
reacting e-mail network.
