Hollyoak's Radiographic Imaging
One of the problems
with many vet radiographic (X-ray) systems is the lack of
power - especially noticed when dealing with larger
dogs. In such cases, imaging details become 'fuzzy' and
indistinct with poor contrast. So this is one area of
the Hollyoak practice where we choose to use a more powerful
'human' radiographic imager. This gives us excellent
images that are far superior to those machines that are
'veterinary' specific.
We are also installing a
hybrid system which involves 'wet' processing and digital
storage capabilities on our computer sysem. This gives
us most of the advantages of fully digital x-ray systems, like
the ability to enhance the images, but at a much lower cost
(reducing pet owner costs is a
constant theme in our equipment selection
process).
When a vet is explaining a diagnosis to
a pet owner, she can display the radiograph image on the
consulting room computer screen in an instant.
